Oh man! finally they are out! Blur Studio has made available Blur Beta tools. I was heavily involved in the creation of most of them working alongside with Eric Hulser and Remi McGill during the time I was at the amazing Blur Studio.
You will find a lot of maxscript code there, xsi python scripts, and probably a few interesting plugins.
In my opinion Element Storm is one of the most complex ones, and the transform cache plugins for XSI and Max as super interesting from the pipeline point of view. Take a look at the plugin for max to use the Blur’s naming convention, also very important is the Qt integration with XSI scripts, we could not live without it
Remember that all those scripts/plugins are used in production in the studio, some of them will work with no problem independently anywhere, but some of them are very attached to the way we had setup the pipeline at Blur.
Enjoy!

WOW! I think this is a very important and interesting step, kudos for Blur! One of the valuable things at animation studios are the tools and the R&D they do, and they are normally not very fond of sharing their “secrets” -although at the end everybody is developing the same (or similar) techniques and pipeline tools.
This step means for me two things:
1. Blur is very proud of his work and has the new worldwide “opensource mind” and think that sharing his code will not only help others, but also produce a lot of feedback.
2. Blur is changing all his technology and doesn’t need this tools anymore XD
Anyway, great news!
And congratulations for your work, Tocayo!
